We live in a world that has too much to offer. Too much to see, too much to taste, too much to experience, too much to read… and certainly : too much to have. We are the generation of foragers (we collect DVD’s, shoes, Hi-tech-stuff, etc..) And we don’t seem to really appreciate our possessions anymore.
Why do we want to feel the joy of buying something new over and over again? Why is “enough” not enough anymore?
“Less is more” only seems to count for make-up on aging women.
And I am just like that (not an aging woman, but … you get it;)), I have collections of things I don’t really need. And I keep buying them.. so that after a few years -when I realize they are just collecting dust- , I can sell them to other foragers, to be able to buy new things –that again- I don’t really need.
I should learn to love, use and appreciate the things I own now. (oh, I do love my new macbook, and I’m pretty sure I will love it for the next 2 years :p)
But I really should save some money to pay my bills next month. :(
